# xilinx-ise
|
|
|
|
Xilinx ISE 14.7 docker.
|
|
|
|
I included a `xilinx` shell script, which allows execution of e.g. `impact` inside the docker container. The current working directory is mounted to `/build`.
|
|
|
|
Example:
|
|
```
|
|
xilinx impact -batch my.cmd
|
|
```
|
|
`xilinx` command is executed in the current working directory.
|
|
Just copy `xilinx` to a directory in your `PATH`.
|
|
|
|
To build the docker image, do the following:
|
|
|
|
1. Make sure you have at enough space available to create the docker image. The install files take 8GB, the final image has about 30GB.
|
|
|
|
2. Download [Xilinx ISE 14.7](https://www.xilinx.com/support/download/index.html/content/xilinx/en/downloadNav/design-tools/v2012_4---14_7.html). You will to have to create an account to download the files. Download all 4 files named:
|
|
- [Windows 7/XP/Server and Linux - Split Installer Base Image - File 1/4](https://www.xilinx.com/member/forms/download/xef.html?filename=Xilinx_ISE_DS_14.7_1015_1-1.tar)
|
|
- [Windows 7/XP/Server and Linux Install Data A - File 2/4](https://www.xilinx.com/member/forms/download/xef.html?filename=Xilinx_ISE_DS_14.7_1015_1-2.zip.xz)
|
|
- [Windows 7/XP/Server and Linux Install Data B - File 3/4](https://www.xilinx.com/member/forms/download/xef.html?filename=Xilinx_ISE_DS_14.7_1015_1-3.zip.xz)
|
|
- [Windows 7/XP/Server and Linux Install Data C - File 4/4](https://www.xilinx.com/member/forms/download/xef.html?filename=Xilinx_ISE_DS_14.7_1015_1-4.zip.xz)

3. Copy Downloads to xilinx-installer folder:
|
|
```
|
|
cp ~/Downloads/Xilinx_ISE_DS_14.7_1015_* xilinx-installer/
|
|
```
|
|
|
|
4. Run docker build:
|
|
```
|
|
./build
|
|
```
|
|
*answer no, when asked to push image*
|
|
|
|
5. After that you can test this with:
|
|
```
|
|
./xilinx impact -h
|
|
```
|
|
to see this output:
|
|

5a. Alternatively, the script `run-docker` will drop you in shell inside the docker environment. You can use xilinx tools from there
|
|
|
|
6. Create a free license via the [Licensing Solution Center](https://www.xilinx.com/getlicense)
|
|
|
|
7. Add license to this directory. The license is mounted into the docker container from the current directory.
